Natural Gas and Propane Air to Fuel System

HAPU has designed an ICE (internal combustion engine) carburetor for low pressure gaseous fuels. This carburetor can seamlessly switch between low pressure household natural gas and propane from a tank with a simple low pressure regulator. In combination with the HAPU Engine Control Unit (ECU) it maintains a tight stoichiometric burn ratio so it can optimize efficiency, catalytic converter performance, and minimize harmful emissions.

Engine Control Unit

The ECU designed by HAPU can be adapted to a wide range of spark ignited engines. It controls the engine's starting and stopping sequence, air to fuel ratio, spark advance, and speed or torque (throttle). It is an ideal all-in-one solution for an engine control and governor functionality needed for power generators.

Battery

HAPU’s high power ratio battery is ideally suited to optimize the engine run cycle, provide the resilience against block loading, reduce the engine run time in the back-up mode, and guarantee seamless switching in the case of power outage. The HAPU Battery incorporates thermal management, which enables it to provide 3C continuous discharge capability. This battery is the missing link for engine or fuel cell-backed hybrid systems.

Carbon Capture and Reuse

Hybrid APU is developing ICE Emissions Capture and Reuse. At Hybrid APU, we believe the future of power generation does not exclude the use of the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE). Nor do we believe that Fossil Fuels should be completely discarded from our energy mix. We believe that Internal Combustion Engines can be engineered to burn alternative low carbon fuels like ammonia and hydrogen and that carbon based fuels should continue to provide utility as long as their emissions are managed through capture and reuse. Using the thermal deltas of the waste heat associated with the power cycle, we propose processing the exhaust emissions to convert CO2, Nox and other pollutants to useful chemicals and products.
